Governor-elect Greg Abbott visits metroplex, hosts roundtable with area legislators

AUSTIN - Governor-elect Greg Abbott today hosted a roundtable in Arlington to discuss with area legislators his priorities for the upcoming legislative session. Gov.–elect Abbott also took the opportunity to discuss his broad vision of elevating Texas’ future to new heights and ushering in a new era of leadership for the state of Texas.

“The 84th Texas Legislative Session is going to be one of historic proportions,” Governor-elect

Abbott said. 

“The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is home to several new legislators, each bringing unique ideas to the table in a shared goal to ensure that even the future is bigger in Texas. 

I look forward to working with all members of the legislature to accomplish our shared goals of strengthening our economy, elevating our education system to be number one in the nation, securing our border and preserving the very freedoms that have made Texas the envy of the nation.”

Among those in attendance were:  Representative Cindy Burkett, Representative Giovanni Capriglione, Representative Helen Giddings, Representative Craig Goldman, Senator Kelly Hancock, Senator-elect Don Huffines, Representative Eric Johnson, Representative Stephanie Klick, Representative-elect Matt Rinaldi, Representative-elect Ramon Romero, Jr., Representative Ken Sheets, Representative Ron Simmons,, Representative Scott Stanford, Representative-elect Tony Tinderholt, Senator Royce West and Representative Bill Zedler.
