Chamber award winners to be recognized digitally

The Pampa Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet will not have an in-person event for 2020, but instead will have a virtual presentation via Facebook Live.

“The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors decided last Tuesday, in the best interest of community health and economic-wise, that we would cancel the 2019 awards banquet this year and combine it with next year’s banquet,” Pampa Chamber of Commerce executive director Shawna Elliott said. “In the next couple of weeks, I will reach out to all of the recipients and we will do a Facebook Live where we can recognize the winners.”

Recipients will also be honored at next year’s banquet.

“We have to consider the people we are honoring as well as the people in the community,” Board of the Directors President Brenda Guess. “We (The Board of Directors) look forward to the Chamber events later in the year and we will be contacting businesses at that time about our other events.”

The Chamber of Commerce will be at Burnin’ the Bricks selling hot dogs and hamburgers in the First Bank Southwest parking lot located at 300 W. Kingsmill on July 11.
