Pampa Chamber of Commerce submits video for HGTV Hometown Takeover competition
The Pampa Chamber of Commerce have submitted Pampa in a competition on HGTV dubbed “Hometown Takeover.”
Chamber executive director Shawna Elliott said Pampa will have a chance to have downtown receive a “make-over” should they win the competition.
“There is possibly a chance for the entire Pampa Community to see a refreshed downtown and maybe even a few older buildings with a lot of history revived,” Elliott said.
Cities with under 40,000 residents and a down-town needing renovated are the qualifications to enter.
Nathan Withers put together a video featuring various Pampa residents advocating for the city to be revitalized.
Other area cities have thrown their hat in the ring for the competition, but Elliott feels like some of the local attractions will give Pampa the edge.
“We have three amazing museums, history in the buildings a downtown with amazing architectural as well as several historical homes,” Elliott said.
Pampa was entered in the contest last week and should know the results within a month.
