PAWS seeks volunteers for city lake cleanup this Saturday

This duck swallowed a hook attached to a fishing line. It has been caught and is receiving medical treatment for its wounds.

PAWS is asking for volunteers to help clean for one hour this Saturday, June 20.

The cleanup will begin at 9 a.m. at Pampa’s city lake and will end at 10 a.m.

Volunteers are asked to specifically look for fishing line and hooks, as the wildlife continues to be injured by swallowing hooks or getting caught in the lines.

General trash will be picked up as well, with the focus being on discarded fishing items.

Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Volunteers are asked to bring their own water and sunscreen.

You do not need to sign up if you would like to volunteer, simply show up on Saturday.
