Harvesters’ walk-off victory notches Snelgrooes’ 150th win
On Friday, March 13, before the University Interscholastic League (UIL) shut down sports until at least May 4, the Pampa Harvesters notched head coach Kaleb Snelgrooes’ 150th win in a 7-6 walk-off victory over Bridgeport.Sophomore Armando Miranda took the mound for the Harvesters and got one punch-out for the first out before Bridgeport took a 3-0 lead after one.In the home half of the first, senior Dylan Booth had a bas hit followed by an RBI double from senior Evan Boyd to get the Harvesters on the board 3-1. Boyd got to third on a pair of flyouts before scoring on a passed ball during sophomore Sam Anguiano’s at bat.Miranda tallied a couple of strikeouts as Bridgeport went down in order in the second. He added another punch-out in the third.Bridgeport added three more runs in the top of the fourth to take the 6-2 lead.In the bottom of the fourth, Anguiano hit a line drive to get on base. Junior Nolan Groomer drew a walk followed by another base hit from junior Cayden Stout. Senior Fernando Perez hit an RBI single to score Anguiano and to make it a 6-3 ball game.With the bases loaded, senior Joey Hill was hit by a pitch for the RBI, followed by Booth with the RBI walk to make it a one-run game 6-5.Boyd and senior Zack Robinson each hit RBI singles to give Pampa the 7-6 run before the game was called in the bottom of the fourth.Stat round-upArmando Miranda pitched 3.1 innings had three hits, five runs, five earned runs, five strikeouts and five walks.
