Duane Waldrop, 58, of Skellytown, and formerly of Pampa, passed away January 20, 2023 at his home.

A Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Kyle Ohsfeldt of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the

direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Duane will be available for viewing from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2023 at the funeral home.

His service will be livestreamed through the funeral home’s website.

Duane was born on February 18, 1964 in Weatherford, OK to Marion and Uola Waldrop. As a young boy and man, Duane would travel and live in various states that included Alaska, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. In the early 80’s, he made Texas his permanent home, settling in Pampa. Shortly after coming to Pampa, he joined the City of Pampa serving in several different roles that included the water & sanitation department, backhoe operator, and crew head; a career that spanned over 33 years, retiring in 2015.

When he was not working, Duane found enjoyment spending time outdoors fishing and camping. What he enjoyed most was spending time with family watching movies and having family dinners. Duane will be remembered as fun-loving man who loved to joke and make people laugh. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Megan Waldrop; and by a brother James Waldrop.

His survivors include a daughter, Miranda Conklin and husband Jonathan of Skellytown, two sons, Cody Waldrop, and Daniel Waldrop and wife Kayleen, all of Pampa; three grandchildren, Cheryl, Crush, and Vada; a brother, Leon Waldrop and wife Amelia of Pampa; several aunts, uncles, and extended family.
