Paul Lloyd Honored by County Commissioners

The Gray County Commissioners Court met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, June 1st. The meeting started out with special recognition to Paul Lloyd who is retiring from the Perry Lefors Airport Advisory Board. Lloyd was gifted a flag flown over the Gray County Courthouse from the commissioner’s court. Lloyd’s retirement will be replaced by James Bagley, a unanimous vote in by the commissioner’s court at the same meeting. Also in attendance for Item 6, ‘Consider County Retirement Plan with Ralph Wallace with TCDRS (Texas County & District Retirement System)’ was Ralph Wallace. Wallace gave the update on where the retirement plan for the county was as of now. No changes were made to the plan, as of now there are no scheduled changes, any changes or amendments would happen during the budget planning. For Item 7, ‘Consider 2-Year Agreement Extension of the Depository Agreement with Happy State Bank’ no members of Happy State Bank were present for the consideration, the court voted yes to extend the agreement for two more years. An agreement the county has held for going on six years now. Item 8, ‘Consider Approval of a Forfeiture Funds for a New K-9 Unit’ was approved. The new K-9 unit is in training as of now for the GCSO. Garnet Faires was approved by the court to take over as new Chief Deputy in the Tax Assessor and Collector’s Office, the position was originally held by Gaye Whitehead.

• Item 2, ‘Consider Line-Item Transfers’, Mid-year line item transfers

• Item 3, ‘Consider Budget Amendments’ NONE

• Item 4, ‘Accept the 1st Quarter Treasurer’s Report’ - Accepted as presented by Elaine Morris

• Item 10, ‘Executive Session Under Section 551.072 of Texas Government Code’ - Deliberations about real property

The next Gray County Commissioners Court meeting is set for Thursday, June 15th at 9 am in the second floor courtroom of the Gray County Courthouse.
