PHS Weekly Update

Posted

Time marches on! (It you read that to the tune from Tracy Lawrence then you’re on my wavelength). It was an exciting week for PHS students as we had several advance from tournaments and meets. Harvester Golfer Sawyer Burleson advanced to State after a great showing at the Regionals in Lubbock. Congratulations Sawyer! Harvester Track had several athletes advance from the Area Track meet as well. Congratulations to the following athletes for advancing: Madox Jones and Andres Cervantes in both shotput and discus, Yahira Zamudio in the 200 meter dash, Yahaira Zamudio, Berlin Bartlett, Katlyn Magers, and Brylee Daniels in the 4x200 meter relay, Emma Searl and Sam Watson in the shotput, and Avery Ferguson in shotput as well as the 100 meter and 400 meter. These kiddos will represent Pampa at the Regional Meet in Lubbock next week. On top of these great accomplishments, it was a busy week at PHS. Monday night the Hustlin’ Harvesters capped their season at their banquet. Tuesday, Lady Harvester Softball lost a one-run nail biter to Canyon and Harvester Baseball hosted Canyon. Tuesday and Thursday our students took their first round of the STAAR exams. The week was capped with both Lady Harvester Softball and Harvester Baseball traveling to Dumas. Lady Harvester Softball will take on Monahans this week in the Bi-District round of the playoffs in Lockney Friday night and Saturday if needed. Pampa High School students represented Pampa at UIL Academic Regionals where the Current Events team placed 3rd and PHS FFA was also in action as they traveled to Texas Tech University for State CDE Judging. Great job Harvesters! 5 weeks and a measly 24 days stands between us and Summer Break. We’re excited to finish the year strong and to send the class of 2023 off in style. It’s a great day to be a Harvester!
