Gray County Covid-19 Deaths Update
On April 19, the Gray County Judge’s Office was notified of an increase in the Gray County Covid-19 (Coronavirus) deaths for Gray County by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The increase was due to residents of Gray County being counted on other Counties death numbers due to their temporary residency in those Counties.
If a Gray County resident was living in an assisted living facility or other residential facility out of County, but continued to own residential property in Gray County, they have now been attributed as a death in Gray County.
Those corresponding numbers will count as a net loss for the temporary County of residence and will count as a net gain for Gray County. As a result, Gray County’s number of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) related deaths has increased from 32 to 60.
The current number of active cases for Gray County is two and both are located in Pampa. If there is a dramatic increase in active Covid-19 (Coronavirus) cases, the citizens of Gray County will be notified through local media and social media.
