Mayor Pingel announces decision to not run for re-election
Sunday afternoon Pampa Mayor Brad Pingel announced his decision to not run for re-election when his term expires in May 2021.
“As I look towards the future and reflect on the past, I feel now is the time to publicly announce my intentions as Mayor of the City of Pampa. I have known since my re-election in 2016, that this would be my last term.
I have served our City since 2005, six years as a Commissioner and ten years as Mayor. I have truly enjoyed my time serving our community.
There have been challenges through the year, but my commitment to Pampa and the citizens has always stayed constant. The City staff has been incredible and deserves to be acknowledged for the great job they do every day for our City.
I have enjoyed working with all of the elected officials during my time. I will continue to support our City in any way possible.
My term will end in May, but until then I will continue serving as your Mayor. Thank you again for all your support over the past sixteen years.”
City Manager Shane Stokes said of Pingel “It has been a pleasure working with Mayor Pingel over the past sixteen years. His passion and dedication have always been evident through good times and bad. We will miss his leadership, but are also excited for him, Suzanne and their family as they enter this next season in their life.”
