Tralee Crisis Center to re-open office on July 1
Tralee Crisis Center will re-open its main office at 310 S. Cuyler in Pampa on a limited basis beginning Wednesday, July 1, announced Dee Dee Laramore, executive director. Tralee’s offices have been closed to the public since March 20 due to the COVID-19 virus. Tralee’s safe shelter remains open, she said.
Victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of violent crime will be able to meet with advocates at the office by calling the office at 806-669-1131 during regular office hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. At that time, advocates will set up an appointment for them. In order to guard against coronavirus infection, clients coming to the office are asked to wear a mask and follow proper handwashing and sanitizing guidelines. If they do not have a mask, one will be provided.
Tralee’s advocates will meet with one person at a time in their offices while following social distancing guidelines. Family members, friends and children will be asked to wait outside or in a location of choice until the client is ready to leave. Clients are asked to make childcare arrangements for their children before coming to the office. If they have no one to care for their children, advocates will continue to provide services by telephone or teleconference.
“We look forward to seeing our clients again, even if it is ‘mask to mask’,” Laramore said. “We’ve been fortunate to be able to continue to help our clients despite all the coronavirus restrictions. Since March, 132 survivors have been assisted by Tralee in many different ways, from protective orders, safe shelter, sexual assault accompaniments, emergency transportations, financial aid to professional and peer counseling and emotional support. We’ve served all ages from tiny babies to 99 years old. Like I said when this first began, ‘We will sur-thrive!’ This is just one more step towards that goal.”
For immediate assistance, violent crime victims can call Tralee’s 24-hour-hotline at 806-669-1788 or 1-800-658-2796.
