Lucille Cozart, 94 years of age, of Pampa, peacefully left her earthly home to spend eternity with her Father God while family sat her side in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2020. She was born on January 22, 1926 to Boston and Moda Cates in Patricia, Texas.
On November 25, 1951, Lucille married her soul mate and best friend, Robert Zed “RZ” Cozart. Together, they invested in Texas Grocery, a grocery store in Texoma, Texas and operated it for about 15 years before selling it to retire. After their retirement, they moved to Dublin, Texas. As she was never able to have idle hands for any length of time, Lucille become involved with the Dublin Senior Citizens Center as the Green Thumb Secretary, she baked wedding cakes and cookies, hand stitched numerous quilts, played the piano at her church home and in her spare time, she enjoyed golfing. Expecting the arrival of her first great-grandson, she moved to Pampa in 1997. She was not only present in her great-grandchildren’s lives, but she actively played a role in both babysitting and raising each of them. She shared her love for music by teaching them to play musical instruments and sing with her.
Lucille took every opportunity to share Jesus’ love and that was very evident in her sweet disposition as well as her capability to love any and everyone while focusing on the positive rather than the negative in any situation. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and did so for many years. Lucille has an enormous love for life, family, and God above all else.
Her precious soul made it extremely easy to love her (even when she was ornery). Her bright outlook on life, sweet voice, homemaking skills and even her Christmas candy and cookies will be missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, RZ Cozart; daughter, Ruth Ann Cozart and sons, John Cozart and Gary Cozart.
Lucille has left behind to cherish her love, a daughter, Velma Earl and husband Melvin of Pampa; three granddaughters, Alissha Jefferis and husband Kevin of Pampa, Kendra Appier and husband Brad of Bushland, Lindsey Maddox of Amarillo; eight great-grandchildren, Kolton Jefferis and wife Bailey, Taylor Jefferis, Austin Appier, Connor Appier, Addison Appier, Brody Seely, Tristan Seely and Ryan Maddox.
