Ronald Carpenter, 80, of Pampa, passed away on October 22, 2020 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Ronald was born August 19, 1940 in Charleston, West Virginia to Walter and Virginia Carpenter. He graduated from Wexford, Pennsylvania in 1958. After high school, Ron entered the United States Navy and served faithfully for 22 years, retiring in 1982. During his time in the Navy he attended Bible college for 3 years. He married Adelina Callos in 1982 in California, they lived in several different cities before moving to Texas in 1995. Ron worked a few years at Titan Specialties before his retirement. He enjoyed working with and building computers, watching and saving old black and white films, and researching genealogy. He was currently working on the Carpenter family tree. He was a long-time member of Briarwood Church in Pampa. Ron loved hunting and dancing and being Grandpa to his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Alan Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife Adelina of the home; 3 daughters, Janet Spence and husband Christopher of Fort Worth, Susanna Bolles and husband Dan of Coos Bay, Oregon, and Martha Bern of Okabena, Minnesota; 4 sons, Jonathan Carpenter of Coos Bay, Oregon, Arnold Torio and wife Cindy of San Antonio, Arnaldo Torio and wife Gina of Fontana, California, and Nathanael Carpenter and wife Falon of Burleson; a sister, Janice Carpenter Nossoughi and husband Ali of Suffern, New York; a brother, Stephen Carpenter and wife Patti of Pampa; a sister in law, Susan Carpenter of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
