Lady Harvesters fall 19-18 in shoot-out at Hereford

The Lady Harvesters traveled to Hereford Tuesday where they fell 19-18 in a shoot-out that saw several home runs. Jasmine Martinez, Kynleigh Kirby, Makenzie Anguiano and Sydney Larkin hit home runs in the contest. “I told them I was proud of them for fighting the entire game and never giving up. I told them that we had a lot of errors and that’s what killed us,” Head Coach Dottie Hawthorne said. “I’m proud of them but we are a better team than that. I’m proud of them altogether. Who can score 18 runs and still lose? We had some big hitters this game. Sydney Larkin really stepped up. She’s been hitting the ball well.” Reagan Dyer had several big put-outs in the outfield. “Reagan is a little ball of fire and is going to do whatever it takes to make the play. She’s a go-getter,” Hawthorne said. The Lady Harvesters return to action Friday when they host Perryton at 2 p.m. “We’re preparing like always and aren’t going to take anyone lightly,” Hawthorne said. “We’re going as far as we can this year and take care of business.”
