Makenzie Anguiano signs to play at Dodge City Community College for softball

Pampa Lady Harvesters’ power-hitting senior Makenzie Anguiano will hopefully be hitting plenty of home runs at Dodge City Community College next year.
Anguiano signed the paperwork to make it official on Wednesday afternoon.
“I went on a visit and I liked their program,” Anguiano said. “I think it’ll be very beneficial for me as an athlete.”
Anguiano said she will miss her time playing under Head Coach Dottie Hawthorne.
“I loved it,” Anguiano said. “Coach Hawthorne meant so much to me.”
The feelings are mutual from Hawthorne.
“I’m super-proud of her,” Hawthorne said. “She has worked really hard and is a true leader on and off the field. We’re going to miss her for sure next year. She’s been great for program.”
The Lady Harvesters will be losing one of their power-hitters in the line-up and whoever steps up to the plate will have big shoes to fill.
“She always played second base up until this year and she worked so hard on her back-hand,” Hawthorne said. “When she got it in the game she looked so excited when she did it in a game. But she made so many good plays. It’s hard to single out just one.”
Anguiano will major in either nursing administration or coaching.
