Pampa Harvesters fall to Hereford 5-0

The Pampa Harvesters (12-9-1, 4-4) hosted Hereford Tuesday afternoon. The Harvesters struggled to get the big hit, mustering only one extra-base hit and leaving four runners on base falling to Hereford 5-0. The loss marks only the second Pampa home loss in two years. “We could never got the big hit, but their pitcher does a good job,” Head Coach Kaleb Snelgrooes said. “We saw him last year as a freshman and was impressive. He does a good job of spotting the ball. Kudos to him. Our guys never quit competing, they did a great job. We’ll show up tomorrow, get to work and get ready for Perryton.” The Harvesters’ celebrated Senior Day before the game and Snelgrooes expressed his appreciation for the four seniors: Nolan Groomer, Cayden Stout, Damian Anguiano and Jacobi Carroll after the game. “You talk about Cayden, Jacobi, Damian and Nolan, they’ve been around this program for four years,” Snelgrooes said. “They’ve been on some playoff teams and made some runs with us. Our program would not be where it is today without those guys and the guys before them. I always ask these guys to leave this program better than they found it and that’s what these guys have done.” The Harvesters return to action on Saturday at noon when they travel to Perryton. “Perryton will be a tough place and us losing today kind of brought us back to them, it’ll be a tough game with those guys,” Snelgrooes said. “They’ll be a handful, but we’ll be ready.”
