Betty “June” Gee Beyer, 88 of Katy, Tx,  formerly of Pampa, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023 with her family by her side.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church with Father Mark Lang officiating.

June was born June 19, 1935 in Grapeland, Tx to William Monroe Gee and Warner Waneda Francis Gee. She was the youngest of seven children. Her family moved to Beeville, Tx when she was ten.  She graduated from A.C. Jones high school in 1953. She married the love of her life Joe Charles “J.C.” Beyer on December 18, 1954. June worked at Kleberg Bank to put J.C. through college at Texas A&I University in Kingsville. In 1957 they moved to Corpus Christi where they started their family, later moving to Abilene and eventually to Pampa in 1970 where June and J.C. would call their home for 52 years.

June worked many years for Dr. Raymond Laycock and volunteered 10 years for BSA hospice group. June was an active member in her community, serving as president of the Chamber of Commerce Gold Coats. She coordinated activities with the Tri-State Seniors golf association. June and J.C. loved playing golf together and June could even boast that she made a hole-in-one.

June was an incredibly beautiful, dynamic, caring, thoughtful wife, mother to three and friend to many. June is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, four sisters Willie Waneda “Sister” Porter, Margaret Louise “Baby” Spence, Sara Alice “SaSa” Turner, Mary Jeanne Baker and two brothers Robert Francis “Buddy” Gee and Charles Paul “Sonny” Gee.

She is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, J.C. Beyer, sons Blake Beyer and wife Pam of Mingus, Brad Beyer of Elgin and daughter Amy Schuelke and husband Greg of Katy, granddaughter Ellyn Schreiber and husband Jake of Richmond and grandson Reagan Schuelke of Katy and great grandson Carter Jacob Schreiber due in January.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Vantage Hospice and to Stephanie Hampton for the loving care shown to June.
