The Pampa Harvesters (8-6, 19-14) clinched a playoff berth on Friday evening with their 44-35 win over Canyon at McNeely Field House here in Pampa.

The playoff berth will mark the Harvesters’ return to the postseason for the first time since the 2019-20 season that saw Pampa play in the Regional Quarterfinals.

“Getting back in the playoffs feels amazing,” Head Coach Braydon Barker said. “These kids have worked so hard this year, so I am glad they were rewarded for their hard work. This district is very tough in every sport, so anytime we can get in the Top Four is a huge accomplishment.”

Senior Julian Alonzo led the team in scoring with 17 points, three treys, two rebounds, four deflections, two steals and went 0-1 in free throws; Junior Dalton Booth had nine points, four rebounds, seven assists, four deflections, two steals and went 3-4 in free throws; Junior Jose Alonzo had seven points, three rebounds, three assists, three deflections, two steals and went 2-2 in free throws; Senior Bryce Lynn had eight points, five rebounds, one assist, two deflections, two steals and went 4-4 free throws; Junior Parker Webb had two points, six rebounds, two deflections and one steal; Junior Tristan Bagwell had one points with three rebounds, one assist, one deflection and went 1-4 in free throws; Junior Kyler Peet had one rebound, one deflection and one steal; Junior Conner Hall had one deflection and one steal; Senior Isaiah Fernandez had one rebound, one assist, two deflections and two steals.

“Our defense was very solid against Canyon,” Barker said. “They really struggled to score due to how active we were on defense. We also rebounded extremely well so that helped as well.”

The Harvesters took on West Plains on Tuesday where they fell 66-48. Next up is Fort Stockton on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Frenship High School in the Bi-District Round of the playoffs.

“Fort Stockton is a solid team,” Barker said. “They play good defense and a few kids that can really score. I think us being battle tested in our tough district will really help us.”
