On January 22, Pampa Independent School District held their monthly board meeting that included the principals from each school campus honoring a member of the board and shining the spotlight on excellence for a number of students.

“One of the great pleasures that we get to do every year is to honor our school board,” Superintendant Hugh Piatt said.

“In Pampa, we are very, very blessed to have a school board who does an amazing job for our district. It really is about what is best for the community and our kids and so it’s a blessing to get to serve you.”

From Austin Elementary, Lacie Jones honored and presented a gift to Denise Intemann.

“Ms. Intemann and I go way back. I used to play on the trampoline in her backyard when I was a kid,” Jones laughed.

“So it’s really cool to be able to stay in my hometown and serve alongside her.”

From Lamar Elementary, Bethany Davis honored and presented a gift to Cade Taylor.

She shared a questionaire from Taylor’s son about how he felt about his dad being a member of the school board.

“I asked him if he could ask his dad to change one thing about school what would it be? And he said, I think we need more days to play at school and not have to do our work,” she laughed.

From Travis Elementary, Byron May honored and presented a gift to Luis Nava.

“When you’ve been around a while, you see people that you’ve had in class or you’ve coached their team. But Mr. Nava can also say he had Coach May but it was actually my dad!” May said. “We appreciate Mr. Nava for all he does.”

From Wilson Elementary, Lisa Smith honored and presented a gift to Dr. Emily Arrington.

“Back on Community Helpers Week, we had Dr. Arrington come and read to all of our kids about going to the dentist and about being a dentist,” Smith said.

“We love Dr. Arrington and all she does for our school and are grateful for her.”

From Pampa Junior High, Sachio Petit honored David Godino who was not in attendance.

“The Junior High absolutely loves David and all he does for us,” Petit said.

From Pampa High School, Clay Jones honored and presented a gift to Richard Qualls.

“We are super blessed for all of y’all and Richard Qualls has done so much for us,” Jones said.

“This is the most cohesive unit that I’ve ever been a part of. We love all of the support you have for all of our staff and we’re really blessed.”

From Pampa Learning Center, Carrie Williams honored and presented a gift to Misty LeBlanc.

“Every time I see Misti, she always asks me how we’re doing at PLC. And she always tells me how appreciative she is of us being there and of our mission for our students,” Williams said.

“That means so much to us and it warms our hearts to know that you all really do appreciate what we do everyday.”

“I think I speak for the board when I say it is an honor to serve on this board and to serve our community and our schools,” said Piatt.

A video was then presented to the Board that consisted of staff and students from all of the campuses giving their thanks for all the hard work the board members do in a heartfelt display of appreciation.
