PHS Weekly Communication

It’s a new month and the turning of the calendar has brought new celebrations for our students. Pampa High School Debate traveled to Pflugerville last week for their first debate tournament of the year. At this tournament, Ruth Gaite became the first PHS student to earn a bid to the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions. This is such an awesome accomplishment and we are so excited for her.

Tuesday night, Lady Harvester Volleyball bested Plainview in straight sets on Teacher Appreciation night. Besides a great victory, the night was so special to watch our student athletes give back to staff who have invested in them. I know all staff who were honored were thankful and humbled by their student athlete.

The rest of the week was filled to the brim with extracurricular activities. Harvester Tennis was in action against three district foes as they traveled to Dumas Tuesday and hosted Canyon and Hereford on Saturday.

Harvester Football returned home in front of another great crowd to tangle with Caprock.

Lady Harvester Volleyball started district play by hosting West Plains and Harvester Cross Country was also in action Saturday as they traveled up the road to Perryton.

A huge shout out goes to our counselors for finding time on Saturday to host our first ACT exam of the school year.

I’m so thankful for our staff and students for the work they have put in to this point of the young school year. It’s a great day to be a Harvester!
