Positive Community News: Roof Spotters’ Uplifting Update to Restore Perryton, One Roof at a Time

Posted

Amarillo-based Roof Spotters, Inc., a leading figure in the roofing and construction industry, remains resolute in its mission to restore Perryton, a community gripped by the aftermath of a devastating tornado in June. After witnessing the devastation of this community and praying for direction on how to support rebuilding efforts President Leland Long quickly committed to donating 10% of Roof Spotters gross sales directly toward families in need of roof replacements.

As his mission began, Leland also informed his suppliers of his commitment and was able to secure a partnership with industry leader Owens Corning, who donated a staggering $80,000 shingle to support Roof Spotters efforts.

In an uplifting update, Roof Spotters proudly announces the completion of 14 homes, with an additional 6 scheduled for restoration by the end of August. The exponential progress, supported by Owens Corning’s generous shingle donation, firmly attests to the values that people of the Texas Panhandle uphold.

“We are called to help those who are in need. I’ve been asked since the beginning of this announcement ‘Leland, why are you doing this?’  “I believe in the principals found in Luke 12. For the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked, and where your treasure is, your heart will be also.” “This is the spirit of Roof Spotters and of the Texas Panhandle, said Leland.

Stories such as Ms. Tonya M. of Perryton, who told Roof Spotters, “ I make $10/hr. I have no home insurance. I tried to tape my roof and it is still leaking, I am elderly and alone, and need help.

Or Ms. Dora V.  of Perryton who shared with Roof Spotters, “My husband is paralyzed and is fretting about our leaking roof. We are also without insurance. As we were praying for our burden to be eased, you showed up.”

“These are our neighbors and their stories are the reason Roof Spotters stands committed to this mission,” said Leland.

Roof Spotters continues to commit that for every 4 homes they are able to roof this year another family in Perryton will find comfort, knowing the roof over their head is secure.
