Rocky Ford, 59, of Pampa, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Amarillo.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 1, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Pampa with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Rocky was born March 13, 1964 in Clovis, New Mexico to Doyle and Doris Ford. He graduated from Farwell High School in 1982 and graduated from Texas Tech in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. In 2011, Rocky earned his Master of Education in English and Principal Certification from Sul Ross State University. On December 28, 1985, he married the love of his life, Jena Bridges.

Rocky worked in many school districts throughout his career which included Brownfield, Wellington, Crane, Roscoe, Kermit, and West Texas High School in Stinnett. He retired from teaching, coaching, and administration in 2021. He was involved in several organizations throughout the state such as Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, Texas Girls Coaches Association also served as a board member, and Texas High School Coaches Association. While in Kermit, he was involved in the Lions Club. Rocky was a member of First Baptist Church in Pampa and served as a deacon in the First Baptist Church in Roscoe, Crane, and Monahans. After retiring from the school setting, he started working for BSN Sports. He had a great network all over the state. Rocky enjoyed people and he loved to visit and help in any way possible.

Family was important to him and they always looked forward to the yearly family vacation to Red River. Rocky, also known as “Pop” by his two precious granddaughters, loved spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing, watching any kind of sports on tv, and he was an avid Texas Tech Red Raider fan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Ford.

Survivors include his wife, Jena of the home; daughter, Kylee Armenta and husband Juan of Pampa; son, Keeston Ford and wife Micah of Kaufman; his father, Doyle Ford of Farwell; sister, Cydney Martin of Lubbock; and two granddaughters, Graci Armenta and Maize Ford.
