Kathy Cole, 60, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, February 19,2023 at her home.
Private family memorial graveside will be held at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Kathy was born September 30, 1962 in Perryton to Leroy and Maudie Welch. She attended schools in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. Kathy moved to Pampa in 1990 where she met Gary Cole. They were married on August 12, 1995 in Pampa. Kathy worked at Furr’s Cafeteria for a little over a year before going to work at Memory Gardens Cemetery. She worked several years at Memory Gardens before going to work at Fairview Cemetery before having to retire due to her health condition. Kathy was a hard worker and loved to talk to people. She never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation with anyone she met. Kathy loved her family and was a wonderful care giver to Gary. Her grandchildren were very special to her and loved them dearly. She enjoyed cross stitching in her spare time. Kathy was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jennifer Ann Welch; and a granddaughter, Casey Wells.
Survivors include her husband, Gary of the home; daughter, Jamie Welch and Matt Gutierrez of McLean; three step daughters, Penny Cole of Pampa; Sarah Edward and husband Scott of Pampa, and Kim Cole of Florida; a sister, Anna Gamble and husband Scott of Pampa; three brothers, Raymond Welch and wife Kelly of Austin, Randy Welch of Pampa, and Robert Welch and wife Barbara of Muscogee, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, two step grandchildren; and 4 great step grandchildren.
