Ronnie Sims, 70, of Pampa, passed away on February 10, 2023 in Pampa.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Briarwood Church with Pastor Jamisen Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Ronnie was born September 8, 1952 in Pampa to Hubert and Dixie Sims. He graduated from Lefors High School in 1972. While in high school he played football and earned All-State honors. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce, where he served faithfully and was honorably discharged in 1976. Ronnie lived in south Texas and California for many years before moving to Pampa in the mid 90s. He worked various jobs in the oilfield industry, with his most recent being at WB Supply. He retired in 2011 due to his health condition. Ronnie married Jane Lawrence on June 13, 2008 in Pampa. He was a longtime member of Briarwood Church, where he served as an usher and greeter. Ronnie also was a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

Ronnie spent a lot of his time watching FOX News and watching football games and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy and OU fan. Ronnie also enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets. He had a loving and caring heart who cared about others. His smile and a handshake or a hug is how he greeted everyone. He usually ended his visits telling you he loved you. His sense of humor was big, as he enjoyed telling jokes to just about anyone he came in contact with. Ronnie will be missed by a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Thomas Sims; sister, Nancy Dunlap; and a brother, Hubert Sims.

Survivors include his wife, Jane of the home; daughter, Sherry Sims Raabe and husband Greg of Frankfort, Kentucky; two sisters, Lou Ann Padavich and husband Skeeter of Bastrop and Jill Dutton and husband Kevin of Katy; two brothers, Dickey Sims and wife Margot of Hereford and Gary Sims and wife Diane of League City; three sisters-in-law, Sue Bryant and husband Vernon, Linda Culver all of Indianapolis, Indiana and Eleaner Henry and husband Gene of Jacksonville, Florida; brother-in-law, Jimmy Lawrence of Indianapolis, Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special cat, Handsome.
