Flogistix Partners with Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation to Open STEM Center at Travis Elementary School in Pampa, Texas

PAMPA, Texas (Oct. 14, 2024) – On October 3, students at Travis Elementary School in Pampa celebrated the opening of their new science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) Center, made possible through a partnership between Flogistix and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation. This initiative is aimed at fostering innovative learning environments for the next generation of leaders in the Pampa Independent School District.

Hugh Piatt II, Superintendent of Pampa ISD, expressed his excitement about the new opportunities for students. “This STEM Center will allow our students to develop critical skills for the future in a hands-on, engaging way,” said Piatt. “We are grateful to Flogistix and the Ripken Foundation for their continued commitment to education and our community.”

Dr. Byron May, Principal of Travis Elementary, expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition. “The STEM Center opens up endless possibilities for our students. It’s a space where they can turn their ideas into reality and apply what they’ve learned in new and exciting ways,” said Dr. May. “We’re excited to see how it will inspire creativity and critical thinking across all grades.”

The STEM Center is equipped with state-of-the-art tools, such as 3D printers, Snap Circuits, and Bee-Bots, designed to help students explore STEM concepts in an interactive environment. The goal of the center is to inspire curiosity and innovation among young learners.

“We believe these resources will empower students to stretch their imaginations and develop practical problem-solving skills,” said Steve Salem, President and CEO of the Ripken Foundation. “It’s all about making learning fun while preparing them for the careers of tomorrow.”
