Lady Harvesters Fall to Dumas in Four Sets

The Pampa Lady Harvesters travelled to Dumas on Saturday to play the Dumas Demonettes in the final game of the first half of district 4-4A play.  Pampa and Dumas came in tied for 5th place with a 2-4 record.

The Demonettes jumped out early to win the first set by a score of 25-18.  The second set was much the same as Pampa was unable to mount any type of momentum and fell by a score of 25-16.  Pampa would get back on track in the third set, and win by a score of 27-25.  However, Dumas would make a late run in the 4th set to win 25-20.

With the loss Pampa falls to 2-5 and sits in 6th place.  Dumas improves to 3-4, and sits in 5th place, a game behind Hereford. 

Pampa Senior, Maecie Hawthorne, had her fourth triple double of the year thanks to 15 assists, 13 digs and 11 kills. Senior, Emma Perry recorded 17 assists and Senior, Carsyn Hunt recorded 14 digs for the Lady Harvesters. 

In other 4-4A action, West Plains handed Canyon their first loss of the season with a 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-11 victory.  Randall knocked off Hereford 25-21, 25-15, 27-25 and Borger swept Perryton for their first district win of the season 25-21, 25-18, 25-16.

At the halfway point of the season, here are the district standings:

Canyon 6-1

Randall 6-1

West Plains 6-1

Hereford 4-3

Dumas 3-4

Pampa 2-5

Borger 1-6

Perryton 0-7.

The Lady Harvesters will travel to Canyon Tuesday 10/8 and then host West Plains on Saturday 10/12.

The top 4 teams will advance to the UIL volleyball playoffs.
