Irving Eugene (Gene) Jones passed away on June 26th, 2024, in Amarillo, TX.

He was born on August 15th, 1941, in Liberal, KS to I.L and Ruby Jones.
Gene was a US Army Veteran who was stationed at Ft. Leanord Wood in Missouri during the Vietnam era. After his discharge, he returned to Texas and began working in the field of printing, and eventually found his way to Texas Printing in Pampa, TX where he worked for over 50 years before retiring.
Gene enjoyed listening to country music, and as a guitarist and bass player himself, enjoyed playing with several bands in the Panhandle area.
He was an avid animal lover, particularly cats, and was never without a few by his side.
He is survived by his brother, Bill Jones and wife JoAnn; his nephew, Matthew Jones and wife Kristen and their five children; his niece, Kristen Witherspoon and husband Joseph and her two children; and one great-grandnephew.
