Jimmy Dale Atwood

Jimmy Dale Atwood, 44 years of age, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully made his transition from this life into eternity with his wife at his side in Amarillo on Friday, June 21, 2024.

He was born on May 9, 1980, in Pampa to Mary Jackson and adopted by Ted and Rhonda Atwood as their own.

Jimmy had graduated from Gary Job Corp Center in San Marcos, Texas and was currently enrolled with Colorado Technical University to further his technical skills.

Throughout his employment, Jimmy found comfort in the kitchen as a cook for numerous food establishments such as Pizza Hut, Dominos, and Wendys.

Blessed with artistic talents, Jimmy found that he could express himself through his music and drawings far easier than through typical words. He also enjoyed cars – in pretty much every aspect – such as model cars, muscle cars, and of course, racing cars!

His big generous heart, great big smile, and larger-than-life personality were no comparison to his big beautiful blue eyes that lit up and sparkled when he saw his grandparents. He loved people and the word stranger wasn’t in his vocabulary as he could carry on a conversation with anyone and be genuinely interested in what they were speaking of.

Although he did have somewhat of an ornery streak and often dished out some smack to his friends and family, but mostly to Amanda.

Two years ago, God blessed him with the love of his life, Amanda Douglas to which he lovingly referred to as his Doll Face. The two of them shared a love that most only hope to find.

Those who preceded Jimmy in death are his mother, Mary Ryals; grandparents, Helen and Earnest Crow, Ted and LaDell Atwood, and grandfather, Ray Jackson.

Cherished loved ones left to covet his memories are his wife, Amanda Atwood of Pampa; parents, Ted Atwood, Jr and Rhonda of Pampa; stepfather, Alvin Ryals of Big Springs, Texas; mother in-law, Carol Hagemann of Pampa; father-in-law, Billy Douglas of Prescott, Arizona; Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Schuyler Stuckey of Frisco, Texas, Aunt Regina and Uncle John Sandefur of Borger as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

For those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jimmy, the family kindly suggests they be made to Cal Farleys Boys Ranch, 600 SW 11 th Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79101-3228.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Wednesday, June 26 th , 2024, in the Serenity Chapel at Winegeart Funeral Home, 300 W Browning Avenue with Brother Paul Nachtigall officiating.

The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
