Ronald Dwayne Brauchi, age 72, went to his heavenly home on July 4, 2024, in Pampa.

A celebration of life service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Vondel Stevens of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and Chaplain Karen Wells, of the South Georgia Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whately Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Visitation will be at the St. Paul United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 511 N. Hobart in Pampa, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5.

Ronnie was born on October 18, 1951, in Sayre, Oklahoma to Milo and Viola Brauchi. Ronnie was an Engineering Technician with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service in Canadian and Pampa until his retirement in 2007.

Ronnie loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and observing wildlife.

For five years, Ronnie was a member of the Pampa First United Methodist Church Community Garden group which was a favorite community service activity with a “family” of volunteers. He also served as a 4-H Wildlife Project leader for many years when his own sons were in 4-H. He planned special activities for the kids in the project such as hikes to identify plant life on the ranch, doing a quail count, camping out, learning safety around the local wildlife, and hunting deer and turkey. Ronnie also enjoyed teaching his own kids and grandkids to enjoy the outdoors. He taught them gun safety, how to shoot a bow and arrow, bb guns and hunting rifles, how to identify animal tracks, hunting for hidden treasures, identifying wildlife calls, and much more.

Ronnie had many fishing adventures with his best fishing buddy, Earl Smith.

Ronnie and the family also spent many holidays at Hubbard Creek fishing and enjoying the outdoors. His special retreat was a place on a ranch near McLean.

Watching his own sons and his grandkids play sports was also important to Ronnie. From football to basketball, soccer, baseball, and golf, he could be found in the stands or following the players on the golf course. He was always their number one fan.

Ronnie volunteered with Pampa Meals on Wheels, GrayCares Living at Home, 4-H, and the church. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Ronnie met his wife, Donna, while both were new employees in Canadian. They married on June 19, 1976, and just recently celebrated their 48th anniversary. They were blessed with two sons, Brian (wife Ashley) of Lefors, and Barry (wife Erin) of Round Rock. They also have five grandchildren: Holly Brauchi of Midland, Cole Brauchi of Odessa, Caden

Brauchi of Lefors, Leslie Brauchi of Round Rock, and Calla Brauchi of Round Rock. Ronnie and Donna lived in Canadian for 8.5 years and moved to Pampa in the fall of 1981.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Donna, two sons, Brian Brauchi and wife Ashley of Lefors, and Barry Brauchi and wife Erin of Round Rock; five grandchildren, Holly Brauchi of Midland, Cole Brauchi of Odessa, Caden Brauchi of Lefors, Leslie Brauchi of Round Rock, and Calla Brauchi of Round Rock; a brother, Donnie wife Neta of Yukon, Oklahoma, mother-in-law, Dean Huffaker of Abernathy, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Viola and Milo Brauchi of Sayre, Oklahoma; his father-in-law, Donald Huffaker of Abernathy; and a sister-in-law, Melinda Horsford of Hale Center.

The family would like to thank the excellent caregivers with Interim Hospice in Pampa.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Pampa Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 939, GrayCares Living at Home, 511 N. Hobart, Pampa, TX, or a charity of your choice.
