Teddy Daniel Jett was called home to be with our Savior at the age of 85 on September 27, 2024.  

He was born on January 4, 1939, to Nettie Mae Hardage Jett and Joseph Pankney Jett near Vernon, Texas. 

Ted and Sharon Adams Jett met on a blind date and were married soon after on November 28, 1963, in Guymon, Oklahoma.  

He worked for Phillips Petroleum Company for 39 years (1960-1999).  

They moved to Pampa, Texas in 1981 and after Sharon retired from teaching, they moved to Glen Rose, Texas in January 2004, placing them closer to their children. 

They joined and became active members at First Baptist Church, Glen Rose supporting the work of the church and loving their church family.

As a young man, Ted enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, later including his son and nephews. He enjoyed many years coaching Little League and later Babe Ruth aged baseball leagues, developing wonderful relationships with players and their families.  

When his children were young, the family spent many adventurous camping trips together in Colorado and New Mexico.  They also had extended Jett family gatherings and fishing trips, making great memories along the way.  

He began golfing shortly before getting married and enjoyed that hobby for the rest of his life, particularly times spent on the course with his brothers, his son, his son-in-law, nephews, grandchildren and many special golfing buddies.  

After grandchildren came along, Ted enjoyed family vacations to Branson, Disney World, Hilton Head and Alaska with his children and grandchildren. 

He attended many special events and games for his grandchildren and was so proud of them. His love for his family ran deep.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents, his five older siblings, Ralph Jett, Susie (Jett) Ming, Billie Joe Jett, Charles Jett and Richard Jett, a brother-in-law, three beautiful sisters-in-law, one niece and five nephews.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon Adams Jett of Glen Rose, Texas and his children Clay Jett and wife Julie of San Antonio and Marla Jett Johnson and husband Aubrey of Arlington, as well as his six amazing grandchildren, Jennifer Jett, Caroline Jett, Aiden Johnson, Meredith Jett, Maddox Johnson and Emmalee Jett and many nieces and nephews: Susan (Jett) Langan, Nora Sue (Ming) Thomas, Sheila (Ming) Winter, Mike Jett, Andy Jett  with wife Susan, Terri (Jett) Lyles with husband Ricky, Kevin Jett, Kathy (Jett) Grange, Kerry Jett and Beth Jett.

A memorial gathering for Teddy will be held from 4 until 6 P.M on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Wiley Glen Rose Funeral Home, 504 Holden St., in Glen Rose, Texas. 

A memorial services celebrating Teddy’s life will be held at 11 A.M., on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, 201 W. Gibbs Blvd., in Glen Rose. Per the family’s request, golf attire is acceptable!

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Teddy’s memory may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 854, Granbury, Texas 76048, or to a charity of your choice.
