Posted

Eulaine Ellis Hall, born Edith Eulaine Ellis on July 10, 1933, in Potter County, TX, died peacefully on April 22, 2024, in Dallas. She was 90 years old.

Drawn to her vivacious spirit and rapier wit, friends surrounded her throughout her life. Adventurous and outspoken, she brought purpose and excitement to everything she did.

She grew up in Pampa, TX where she first fostered her boundless energy, creativity, and leadership. For much of her young life, she entertained her entire community with piano and play performances, dance and cheerleading contests, and reigned Queen in several beauty and talent contests throughout the Texas region.

She organized numerous social and civic events as an active member and officer of the Kit Kat Klub, a sorority at Pampa High school, from which she graduated in 1951.

She attended Stephens College for Women in Columbia, MO, majoring in French with minors in Government and English before graduating in 1953.

She returned to Pampa briefly and then moved to New York City where she spread her wings as a flight attendant. She then became a corporate secretary, keeping executives in line at a major American airline.

As a young woman in Manhattan, she placed a son up for adoption at birth. It was an immense joy of her life finally reconnecting with her biological granddaughters in her 80s.

After leaving New York, she returned to Texas, and continued her career in corporate administration from successful start-ups to big businesses.

In Dallas, she met the love of her life, Wallace Hall, whose children she loved as her own. They formed a business together and then spent 15 years traveling to 49 of the 50 states in their Airstream.

After resettling in Dallas, Eulaine made a name for herself as an intrepid political activist and mentor. She was an indomitable precinct chair in the Dallas County Democratic Party and board member of the Preston Hollow Democrats, working tirelessly to help elect candidates who reflected her values and always encouraging them to adopt her fearless spirit.

A devotee of progress, learning, and cultivating intellect, she willed her body to UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.

She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Henry Ellis and Lora Bernice Guthrie Love; her brother, Robert (Robin) Leroy Ellis; her son, Kevin Michael Hall; and her husband, Wallace Hall.

She is survived by her half-sister, Cynthia Wilcoxson; her nieces and nephews, Kimberly Ellis Overman, Brooke Halsey, Brandon Ellis, Cheramie Ellis, and Erin Ramsey; her granddaughters, Kolby, and Skyler Hall; her stepchildren, Kevin Anthony Hall, Stephen Hall, Cynthia Nefstad, and Shelley Hall Graham; and numerous cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.

Eulaine will be missed by so many. Befitting this woman who touched countless lives in ways beyond description, a celebration of her life will be held on July 10, 2024, at 11:30am at Midway Hills Christian Church, 11001 Midway Road, Dallas.
